We invite you to watch our first dialogue, "Renewables or non-renewables in the clean energies?", part of the TRAJECTS 2025 Dialogue Series.
This session addresses the future of energy in Europe, South Africa, Latin America, and Asia, exploring a fundamental question: Is there a viable role for non-renewable technologies on the path to decarbonization? Our panel of international experts analyzed this from diverse regional and policy perspectives.

The TRAJECTS Centre will organize two information sessions in Spanish and English via Zoom for those interested in applying for Junior and Senior Research Stays in Europe 🌍, Africa 🌍 or Latin America 🌎.

⏰ Time for the Spanish session: 9:00 AM Colombian time.
The objective of these sessions is to resolve any questions that applicants or interested parties may have. The step-by-step instructions on how to apply to the call will also be presented.
Just energy transition in the global south: Synergies between Colombia and South Africa
Jesse Burton is a senior researcher in the Energy Systems Research group at the University of Cape Town in South Africa and contributor to the global thinktank E3G. She is a member of the Powering Past Coal Alliance's Just Transition working group, sits on the Advisory Board of the National Entrepreneurship Initiative's Just Transition Pathways Project and is a member of the steering committee of the Mpumalanga Green Economy Cluster. Jesse will talk about sinergies in JET at Universidad Nacional de Colombia with Nadia Combariza co-founder and co-director of the Colombian think tank on energy policy, POLEN Just Transitions who has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the Universidad del Valle, with an emphasis on energy technologies at the Technical University of Hamburg and has more than 10 years of experience working on energy transition in Colombia, Chile and the Dominican Republic.
The dialogue will be moderated by Professor Erasmo Rodriguez, Director of the TRAJECTS LATAM HUB.
